What You'll Do:
As an Instrument Electrical Controls (IEC) Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation. The IEC Reliability Specialist is recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) on Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls Reliability. This position will provide on‐site
expertise as needed, perform criticality assessments, provide consultation on PM/PM Optimization and predictive/preventative inspection technology. This function
also assists with implementation of Reliability standard work at selected sites throughout the Corporation.
What We're Looking For:
- Assists with implementation and improvements of Mechanical Integrity standards in the Americas.
- Assists with implementation of Reliability standard work processes.
- Conducts criticality equipment assessments.
- Implements asset strategies aligned with criticality and needs of the business.
- Recommends appropriate condition monitoring tools and techniques to improve effectiveness of predictive maintenance (PdM) programs.
- Involved in Six Sigma/RCA, FMEAs, PM reviews and PM Optimization exercises as required.
- Member of the Asset Management Strategy Corporate team.
- Reviews Engineering Design as required to ensure “Design for Reliability” is achieved.
- Provides technical expertise to sites as required.
- Develops Lubrizol Corporate standards for reliability practices and most effective technology (MET).
- Participates when requested on IEC design reviews of vendor packages/specifications to ensure vendor equipment meets Corporate Reliability standards and requirements.
- Responsible for supporting sites in resolving issues with IEC designs in a safe, timely and cost‐effective manner.
- Trains and mentors site staff on instrumentation, electrical and control (IEC) best practices.
- Stays current on industry reliability methods and practices.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- 10+ years of experience in Maintenance or Reliability
- 5+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls Logic
- Proven track record of working on:
- Low & medium voltage power distribution.
- Motor control centers, switchboards and panelboards.
- Various types of field instrumentation & control valves.
- Full functional testing of interlocks.
- Motor Controls, Relay logic, RTUs
- NFPA 70E, Arc flash electrical safety
- Significant knowledge and experience with PLC & DCS (Emerson Delta V)
- Working knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- Work directly with sites on an ad‐hoc basis to address IEC reliability issues.
- Leadership and technical skills to help mentor other site technicians and engineers throughout the Americas.
- Travel up to 25% in the Americas.
Considered a Plus:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or associate degree in industrial technology, Electronics or Instrumentation.
- Experience with SAP S/4
- Experience working in highly hazardous chemical facilities and operations.
