As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. 80% of patients that you will come across this role are coming through the Emergency Department, allowing you to be exposed to a wide variety of cases. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.
A caregiver in this position works 4 10-hour nights from 7:30PM – 6:00AM or 5:30PM – 4:00AM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs and that the patient’s demographic data is correct in all applicable systems.
Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Perform VNA punctures, as necessary.
Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper
