What you'll do...

The Global Warranty Operations (GWO) NA Warranty Claims Assessing Team Leader reports to the NA Claims Assessing Manager and is responsible for managing day-to-day activities of the US and Mexico Warranty Assessing Teams and supports the GWO team objectives.

  • Process dealer warranty claim Web Appeals in a timely and professional manner within departmental objectives
  • Lead global Engineering Chargeback request process and improve the quality of submissions
  • Evaluate Field/Fleet requests for consideration of exception review for denied/adjusted claims
  • Lead the team of assessors who manually review Mexico/NA Emerging Markets (NAEM) dealer warranty claims within warranty & policy guidelines
  • Provide feedback to Warranty Claims Assessing supervisor on assessing/appeal improvement opportunities
  • Support Dealer Relations and Dealer Policy Board requests
  • Support inquiries from the Warranty Assistance Team (WAT) and Dealer Decision Assistance Program (DDAP) team
  • Conduct regular 1:1’s with team members
  • Reinforce warranty administration guiding principles in all business processes
  • Identify warranty administration process improvements
  • Position is hybrid with some onsite work required in the Dearborn/Allen Park area
  • Process/handle any special requests from NA Claims Assessing Manager, as needed 

You'll have... 

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 5+ years of automotive experience
  • 2+ years of leadership or mentorship experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with other areas of Service Engineering Operations (SEO), Engineering, Plant Vehicle Teams (PVT), and management on a regular basis
  • Ability to act in a fair, consistent, and professional manner
  • Solid written & verbal skills
  • Previous Certified Automotive Technician & Dealership experience is preferred
  • Previous warranty experience is preferred
  • Requires overall knowledge of vehicle systems & operations, and light repair procedures
  • Understanding of diagnostics and repair procedures
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong project management skills with the capability of organizing & managing numerous assignments simultaneously
