Several Integration teams within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) are seeking Lead Project Engineers (internally known as Program Integration Managers, PIMs) to join our team and make an immediate impact on urgent and long-term development, production and fleet support issues within the Puget Sound region of Washington.
This is a high visibility role with technical assignments that directly support the BCA Program’s top-level goals, initiatives and challenges. The project engineer will be responsible for one or more projects, and will provide technical, business and integration leadership for the Program, on technical issues requiring cross-functional and cross-organization leadership. You should be willing to take on projects that you may not have full technical understanding of, and stretch beyond your experience base. You will have opportunities to lead and collaborate with people from all over the world, to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems, while maintaining compliance with US and Foreign regulations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA (subsequent assignments could be elsewhere in the Puget Sound).
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Position Responsibilities (Level 4 & Level 5)
Be an integral part of supporting BCA under development and the next generation of commercial airplanes
Lead special projects and initiatives in the areas of safety & certification as well as program issues as directed by the Chief Program Engineer and Director of Engineering
Understand transport category aircraft certification strategy.
Help identify certification risk and implement risk mitigation.
Facilitate compliance discussions with ODA, IPTs, & Worldwide Regulators (e.g. MOC Proposals, technical familiarization meetings, etc.)
Provide internal guidance for compliance interpretation
Liaise between Reg Admin, Safety, & Design Teams
Lead cross-functional technical integration, certification and project management in support of resolving complex issues in airplane development.
Lead detailed investigations to ensure system integration, compliance with requirements, and to preclude safety issues
Coordinate and manage compliance studies
Develop integrated plans, establish and lead teams, monitor and respond to technical issues.
Manage risk & opportunities, and support resolution of cross-functional issues across Integrated Product Teams
Communicate routinely with Internal and External Customers (peers, stakeholders, senior and executive leadership), Regulators and/or suppliers
Mentor others in safety, certification and compliance
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's of Science degree from an accredited course of study or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
10+ years’ experience performing complex engineering or system integration work.
5+ years’ experience in leading and/or managing complex projects.
5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and business partners.
5+ years’ experience with FAA certification activities, processes, and procedures. (cert plan development, cert basis development, creating technical familiarization content, etc)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience with US and/or foreign aircraft certification/regulatory processes
Experience with the transport category aircraft certification process (14 CFR Part 21)
Familiarity with systems engineering requirements & practices (including 14 CFR 25.1309, ARP 4754, & ARP 4761)
ABET accredited bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
