Job Description

As a lead Video Editor at Jellyfish, you're the wizard behind the curtain, transforming raw footage into compelling digital narratives. Your expertise isn't confined to just snappy shorts; you're equally adept at weaving longer, immersive stories. Whether it's a quick, engaging clip for TikTok or a detailed, in-depth video for YouTube, your editing skills will create memorable experiences that resonate with our diverse audience.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Versatile Storytelling: Masterfully edit short-form content for platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok and long-form videos for YouTube or Facebook, ensuring each story is tailored to its medium and audience.
• Platform-Savvy Editing: Adapt your editing style to suit the requirements of different social media platforms, ensuring content is always fresh, engaging, and optimized for platform-specific trends and audience preferences.
• Collaborative Ideation: Work with our creative teams to brainstorm and conceptualize innovative video ideas that align with our brand's ethos and cater to our audience's preferences.
• Trend Awareness: Stay abreast of the latest trends in social media content, incorporating innovative editing techniques and ideas to keep our content at the forefront of digital storytelling.
• Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest visual appeal and narrative strength standards, ensuring all content aligns with our brand identity and meets technical excellence.
• Project Management: Juggle various projects with finesse, effectively managing your time to meet tight deadlines without compromising creativity or quality.
• Feedback Integration: Embrace and incorporate feedback, using it to refine and elevate your work to new heights.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio including short-form and long-form social media content.
• Technical Expertise: High proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro.
• Creative Flair: An exceptional sense of visual storytelling, able to hook viewers in seconds and keep them engaged through longer content.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to shift between different editing styles and trends, staying relevant in the ever-evolving media landscape.
• Collaborative Spirit: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, creative environment.
• Articulate Communicator: Strong ability to understand and interpret creative briefs and to express your own creative ideas clearly.

Salary banding for this role is between 95,000-110,000 USD annually.
