Job Summary

HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an experienced and energetic Assistant Controller. HRI is seeking qualified applicants for a position within our company located in the Central Pennsylvania area. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner with the Sr. Operations team and Controller to analyze profitability for decision making support to optimize organization performance. The individual should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial budgets
  • Responsible for closing processes
  • Ensure internal controls 
  • Assist in coordinating the financial activities of the company including accounting staff
  • Assist with research, recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Review time reporting and weekly payroll
  • File and remit sales and use tax
  • Assist with external audits
  • Overseeing manufacturing and JCA for the company
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned

 

Education

  • Preferred degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minium 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA, CMA, or CCIFP preferred

  • Proficient in standard software, and computer skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and ethics
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
