Logistics Group Leader

Description

General Summary 

Oversees, monitors, and coordinates activities, giving importance to individual employees and overall achievement of established goals.  Acts as liaison between Logistics employees and the supervisor.

Some of the duties and responsibilities may include: 

• Assigns employees as directed by the supervisor  
• Arranges and assists with the training of new employees 
• Monitors all activities in their area and exercises independent decision making 
• Oversees accurate record keeping 
• Ensures equipment down time is kept to a minimum 
• Informs supervisors and managers of shipping/receiving problems 
• Keep supervisors and managers apprised of impending employee concerns 
• Ensures compliance with company safety, quality, standard operating procedures (SOP), HACCP, and good manufacturing practices (GMP) guidelines 
• Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Qualifications 

• High School diploma or TABE equivalent 
• 5 years experience w/Forklift I, II, III experience 
• Proven leadership skills 
• Backup for Shift Supervisor 
• Excellent organizational skills 
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures 
• Demonstrates a high level of precision, accuracy and alertness 
• Good decision making skills 
• Computer literate 
• Advanced math skills 
• Able to lift up to 50lbs. repetitively
