ANTICIPATED VACANCY
What you will do:
This position requiring a thorough knowledge of the inventory management system, MyFloridaMarkePlace/Ariba on Demand (MFMP/AOD), and all aspects of receiving, storing, and issuing of all items issued by this institution. This person performs various duties independently.
How you will make an impact:
- Maintains inventory control records
- Coordinates the receipt, inspection and distribution of supplies used by Facilities Staff (Grounds, Maintenance, Engineering, Plumbing, Painters, and Boiler Staff).
- Works with the Purchasing Department, initiates purchase requisitions through MFMP to maintain stock levels.
- Conducts physical inventory of stock items on a semi-annual basis.
- Receives excess materials from facilities staff and returns to stock/inventory.
- Prepares miscellaneous reports as requested by supervisor.
- Packs and executes necessary shipping documents for returning damaged material to vendors.
- Crates and ships excess material.
- Ensures the proper paperwork is completed and accurate to ensure vendor receives proper items back, and that we received proper credit.
- Operates forklift and provides preventative maintenance as required.
- Inspects and organizes inventory areas for space utilization, cleanliness and safety standards.
- Check for fire hazards.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of purchasing, supply inventory, property management, food service and/or real property management.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Lift up to 100lbs, operate forklift and pallet jack.
- Basic math for organizing files/records and counting stock and rotate stock.
- Work in inclement weather.
- Prepare and process receiving reports and purchase orders.
- Utilize inventory system.
- Conduct physical inventory.
- Ability to work independently.
- Communicate effectively verbally, and in writing.
- Operate a motor vehicle and make deliveries.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent.
- A least one year of clerical experience.
