What You Will Achieve
As a member of the Vendor Management team, you will be at the center of external laboratory oversight and everything you will do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will be part of the larger Clinical Immunology and Diagnostics (CID) group within Pfizer’s Vaccines division. You will have the important role to select and monitor external labs in support of multiple vaccine programs. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge.
How You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Perform isolation of Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs).
Analyze, document and report experimental data in accordance with Pfizer/GCLP requirements.
Support the efficient and compliant operation of the laboratory by developing appropriate processes and standard operating procedures, working with others to operate the laboratory, assist in maintaining inventory and by becoming an expert user in key areas of operation (such as LIMS and GDMS).
Assist in the sourcing and maintenance of reagents required to maintain PBMC lab.
Assist in shipping reagents, supplies and clinical samples to or from external partner laboratories worldwide.
Contribute to work group goals, collaborate with team members, and participate as a team member
Prioritize work to meet project deadlines, apply technical skills to assignments, and organize work according to departmental priorities
Choose between alternatives to solve moderately complex problems, follow procedures with general instructions, and work under moderate supervision with regular review
Interact with external vendors to obtain quotes and purchase reagents for lab operations
Identify and report experimental problems, troubleshoot causative factors, implement necessary corrections after discussing with the supervisor, and train other analysts on established technologies while managing direct reports
Qualifications
Must-Have
BA/BS with 3+ years of experience or MBA/MS with 0+ of experience
Hands-on experience in cell culture and cell-based assays
Proficiency in using relevant software for data analysis
Fundamental laboratory skills, including sterile technique, cell culture, fluorescence-based cell counting, centrifugation, LN2 operation
Strong background in assay design and result interpretation
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in using personal computers for word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, and scientific software
Nice-to-Have
Hands-on experience with PBMC isolation
Experience in drug discovery processes
Expertise in vendor management
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance
