This position is responsible for assisting with laboratory duties in a research setting; performs routine tests with direction from the supervisor, manager or higher-level technician.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, animal colony maintenance, preparation of solutions, set-up and maintenance of equipment, and animal handling and husbandry.
- Maintains files on research and assists with data entry in a customized web-based software program for tracking animal colonies.
- Helps coordinates experiments with laboratory staff for multiple clients across the University.
- Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a barrier facility laboratory environment.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment.
- Must be able to lift 5lbs and be physically able to stand and move for 70% of working hours.
- Must be able to provide standard and specialized care to research animals.
