Senior AI Engineer

YOUR CHALLENGE:

As an AI Engineer in the AI Lab, you are supporting the development of AI applications on top of foundational models, driving Blacklane’s AI transformation. You will explore LLMs, Generative AI, build workflows and automation in depth – delivering prototypes, building solutions, and enabling teams to leverage AI effectively.

• Collaborate with the AI Lead and business teams to build high-quality prototypes and reference solutions.
• Develop tailored AI Applications to enhance products and internal processes.
• Empower teams by providing mentoring, technical coaching, and knowledge transfer.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and evolve them to production-ready solutions.
• Apply MLOps best practices to ensure security, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Scout and evaluate emerging models, frameworks, and tools, always with a focus on business value and ROI.
• Support projects from ideation through to handover to product teams or IT after the ramp-up phase.

 

ABOUT YOU:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, with a strong focus on LLMs, Generative AI, and applied AI solutions.
• Proficient in Python and at least one other programming language (e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript), with experience across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Skilled in prototyping, model deployment, and scaling AI solutions to production environments.
• Practical knowledge of MLOps, pipeline automation, CI/CD, and AI system monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to turn ideas into tangible AI applications.
• A knowledge-sharer who enjoys enabling others to work with AI independently.
• Bonus: Experience in mobility/logistics or contributions to open-source AI projects.
