We are seeking a skilled RADAR Software Development Engineer I with a focus on developing complex RADAR systems in C/C++. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance applications and will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle.

You will work in Pelham, New Hampshire as part of the Patriot RADAR Software Team. 

What You Will Do

Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of the new SW work products and enhancement of existing applications and systems to meet program needs.

Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.

Participate in internal review of software components and systems.

Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.

This position requires onsite presence and extensive interaction with other groups including Systems Design engineering, System Integration and Test, Hardware design Engineering, and the Software Development Team.

Travel between Raytheon sites in Tewksbury, MA, Andover, MA, and Pelham, NH.

Occasional travel White Sands Missile Range (El Paso, Tx) may be required

Off hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) occasionally may also be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

Requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

Experience with C, C++, Java or similar higher level programming language.

Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.

The ability to obtain and maintain an interim secret U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Qualifications We Prefer

Active Secret security clearance.

Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles, particularly in high-concurrency and distributed systems.

Sound understanding in embedded systems, real-time systems, or large-scale applications.

Sound understanding with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge in Digital Signal Processing Design.

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git/Clearcase).

Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
