Position Information
40 hours/week
Monday – Friday, 8am-4:30pm
No nights or weekends
$2,000. Sign on bonus eligible!
SSM Health is looking for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our medication purchasing team at our warehouse in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, team player, dependable and has an eye for detail. Only candidates with a minimum of 3 years pharmacy experience will be considered.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the purchase of pharmaceutical and supplies under the procedures set by pharmacy administrations. Ensures appropriate levels of medications inventory and the segregation and removal of outdated or recalled products. Strives for contract compliance and low-cost items.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works cooperatively with internal and external customers to meet their needs for information on items such as product information, drug recall issues, or pricing.
- Develops and maintains effective partnerships with vendors.
- Contact vendors regarding pricing discrepancies, errors in medications received, manufacturer back orders, or to ensure service level expectations are being met.
- Meets managerial needs for information requests in a timely manner; provides pertinent information for decision making, problem solving and management reports.
- Keeps internal customers informed of medication shortages or delays.
- Reviews medication orders for completeness and deviations in normal ordering patterns.
- Works with requester(s) to discuss and resolve concerns before placing order.
- Maintains a log of invoices received by outside vendors, processes the invoice processing system, creates the appropriate invoice approval paperwork and allocates the invoice amount to the appropriate pharmacy sub-account. <
