Client Service Representative / Veterinary AssistantLong Island Animal Hospital - Westbury, New YorkPay range up to $23/hr depending on experienceLong Island Animal Hospital is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a cross-trained receptionist/veterinary assistant position in a small general practice (dog and cat), with a family like atmosphere, located in Westbury, NY. Our assistants are valuable members of our medical teams and play a crucial role in patient care and client service. You will work closely with doctors and technicians to increase the efficiency within our hospital as well as the level of care we provide as a team. Applicants must be team players who are able to multitask in a quick paced environment, while displaying compassion and knowledge so as to maintain exceptional service for our clients and patients. Advancement opportunities available for dedicated and interested employees. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Making appointments
- Answering phones
- Providing estimates and processing invoices
- Animal handling and restraint
- Assist doctors and technicians with medical treatments, diagnostic tests, and procedures
- Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment and patient areas
- Restock and organize medical supplies
- Constantly advance your knowledgebase and skill set
- Up to $23/hour depending on experience
- 1 year of professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, other), required
- Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks
- Must have the ability to adjust to changes in the environment and able to handle stress in a calm manner
- Must be a team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude.
- Must be able to anticipate and be detail oriented due to the high level of quality medicine. Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 pounds, and work on feet most of the day.
