Job Title: Senior Estimator
Department: Specialty Trades
Reports to: Director of Estimating
Job Description/Qualifications:
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for providing detailed estimates based upon conceptual documents as well as schematic, design development and construction documents
Must interface with other estimating disciplines as well as the other members of the Project team, subcontractors and management
Responsible for take-offs, pricing and producing in the final estimate to be incorporated into the final work product - generate take-offs/conceptual estimates and detailed estimates for GMP/CM proposals, budgets and negotiated work with limited oversight by others
Responsible for preparation and coordination of all aspects of Mechanical Estimates including conceptual, CM and lump sum
Ability to lead Mechanical Estimating on projects ranging in size
Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple assignments at once
Ability to navigate blueprints through all stages of design from DD to CD and produce relevant RFI’s when required
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Technical/Design Education, or equivalent estimating and/or field experience
5 years experience in installing or estimating HVAC Mechanical Systems
License Required:
5 years experience minimum
Degree or equivalent experience
Organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Trimble is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office is a must
Physical Requirements:
Lifting (approx 50 lbs.), climbing ladders and stairs; bending or stooping; extended periods of walking; regular exposure to weather conditions; operate motor vehicles; and ability to operate power and/or hand tools
Ability to type/work at a computer screen for extended periods of time
Standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, lifting, walking, typing
Other:
An individual must show a willingness to continue to develop skills in the HVAC/R trade as part of the continued learning process. Must show strong teamwork skills and also be capable of working independently.
