As an Associate General Counsel – Regulatory & Compliance, you will have the opportunity to work with other attorneys, executives, and employees at all levels. The position would be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement; however, there is a strong preference for candidates within two to three hours' drive of the corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO.
So, what will you be doing as an Associate General Counsel – Regulatory & Compliance?
- Provide overall strategy, coordination, and execution over regulatory and compliance-related legal matters
- Provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice and guidance to management and various business units on a wide range of legal topics affecting the company’s legal and regulatory compliance, including, ethics and compliance matters, product regulatory compliance matters, and sustainability matters, among others
- Monitor developments in relevant laws and regulations, identify potential impacts on the company and its business units, and ensure the company understands and complies with such developments
- Manage external relationships with regulators, auditors, lawyers, consultants, and other external parties on regulatory and compliance matters, and represent the company in compliance-related inquiries, audits, inspections, and investigations
- Oversee regulatory research and analysis in response to compliance inquiries and review responses to customers concerning the company’s compliance with various laws and regulations
- Identify and assess legal and regulatory compliance risks and opportunities facing the company, providing legal advice to ensure they are properly addressed, and implementing appropriate controls and mitigation measures
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations globally related to regulated products
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on, and draft, interpret, and update company policies, codes, and procedures
- Draft, review, and negotiate various regulatory and/or compliance provisions, agreements, and certifications
- Develop and promote regulatory and compliance best practices throughout the company
- Provide training to the company on legal topics
To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in-house at a public company or a large law firm.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredite
