About The Role
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s cash flow, revenue accounting, and banking operations. Key responsibilities include forecasting and tracking cash performance, overseeing receivable financing arrangements, supporting accurate revenue recognition in line with U.S. GAAP, and improving internal financial processes and systems. The role will also assist with financial audits, support senior leadership with treasury analysis and scenario planning, and help drive operational efficiency through automation and strong internal controls.
Role Responsibilities
Forecast, monitor, and track cash and cash flow (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly).
Drive improvements in cash management, ensuring financial obligations are met in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Assist with month-end reconciliations of cash and making of related journal entries.
Manage the company’s existing receivable financing arrangements. In cooperation with the company’s lenders, make improvements to existing underwriting procedures to improve efficiencies and throughput.
Track, and report on, the performance of these arrangements.
Help to manage the company’s banking relationships, including with local and regional financial institutions. Process bank account openings, closures, and service implementations.
Assist with the accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This will include ongoing development and implementation of internal controls and policies and procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
Work closely with collections to ensure that receivables are accurately recorded and cash receipts are properly applied.
Assist in the development and preparation of monthly revenue reports and, over time, analyses of variance to budget and forecast.
Redesign processes and systems to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiencies.
Support financial audits and assist with ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.
Support the CFO and others members of the company’s senior team with financial modeling, treasury analysis, and scenario planning.
Role Requirements
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or a related field is highly preferred.
Five years of experience in corporate treasury, the revenue cycle, and general accounting operations. Experience in supporting banking relationships, corporate cash management, payment processing, and forecasting a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including U.S. GAAP and month-end close procedures. Experience in an international manufacturing and-or SaaS environment is helpful.
Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and precision in record-keeping.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with senior management, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
