We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Fiscal team and help maintain the integrity of our financial systems. This role plays a key part in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements and audit schedules
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries
- Maintain fixed assets and coordinate online systems (HUD, APG, etc.)
- Support year-end audits, including 990 and UFR prep
- Oversee reporting such as 1099s, sales tax, and PILOTs
- Perform account analysis and special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and Massachusetts nonprofit procedures
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Blackbaud
- Highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills
