The Role:
We are looking for an Account Director with a specialty in the beverage trade marketing industry to join our rapidly growing team of marketing enthusiasts. As an Account Director, you will actively manage and lead to the success of beverage focused client projects, playing a key leadership role in all disciplines from strategic development to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Project Management
- Exceptional understanding of each client’s business, marketing goals, and program objectives which allows for complete ownership of client & agency relationship and growth
- Serve as senior strategic and planning contact for trade marketing clients. This includes, but not exclusive to, audience thought leadership and communication strategy development specific to access points
- Develop and execute trade & shopper marketing customer-specific programming
- Help to foster relationships between field sales, wholesaler personnel and our team, and maintain active communication
- Build programming with messaging and tactics that are most impactful to unique retailer landscapes
- Ensure all work is completed at the standards of R&B - no matter how large or small
- Partner effortlessly and work cross-functionally with Riddle & Bloom Client Services, Production, Digital, and University Relations teams to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns and set tone for team
- Analyze and synthesize relevant qualitative and quantitative program data that clearly demonstrates program performance relative to campaign objectives. This includes, but not limited to, managing team appropriately to develop comprehensive reporting that allows for measurable success from the outset of programs.
- Identify areas of opportunity/organic growth within existing account base through real-time assessment of program performance, consumer insights and feedback, and regular dialogue with client contacts
- Develop best practices for entire team as well as broader agency
Financials
- Understand and be an active participant in maintaining high-level agency financials (GPM goals, resourcing, ops budgets, staffing, etc.)
- Build and reconcile project-based budgets to achieve target profitability and ensure an efficient use of resources
- Forecast program financials for current program and future growth
New Business (external & internal)
- Lead New Business development from a client services perspective through management of client relationship, client strategy, creative development, sales operations, and budget development
- Identify and develop business and product opportunities for agency to expand and diversify roster and capabilities
Culture Creator
- Contribute positively to agency culture by creating an environment that is healthy, productive and transparent
- Mentor direct reports to create best in class team. This includes, but not exclusive to, aligning on role clarify, professional development, goal setting and creating opportunities to grow within existing work
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field
- 8+ years of related work experience, ideally in supporting large-format channels or Trade/Shopper Marketing
- Knowledge of retail initiatives (particularly category management and/or information-based selling)
- Field and retail sales experience in CPG/Food or Beverage (beer, wine and spirits) or other consumer product industries
- People-centric with outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
- Self-starter with experience balancing business acumen with creativity
- Creative thinker that is willing to travel ‘outside of the box’ for the right solution(s)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience working with Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools (Asana, SharePoint, etc.) a plus
