Ambulatory RN - Plastic Surgery Clinic – Breast Reconstruction

Overview:

This nurse will be working primarily with a plastic surgeon, whose focus is largely on breast reconstruction.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong patient communication skills, as many of these patients are navigating complex emotions during recovery.

  • Experience with outpatient surgical settings or clinic-based follow-ups

Preferred but not required:

  • Post-surgical care experience, especially related to wound care, drains, pain management, and monitoring for complications.

  • Oncology exposure would be helpful, given the patient population.

An RN who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to coordinate closely with both patients and the surgeon would be an ideal fit.

JOB SUMMARY
This position works under general supervision of physician, mid-level provider and/or nursing supervisor to provide nursing services in care and treatment of patients.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

  • Education
    Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

  • Experience
    Specialty areas may have increased experience requirements as dictated by clinic or standard of care.

  • Licenses and Certifications
    (RN) REGISTERED NURSE Licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas Upon Hire
    BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Through course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire

    Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

    1 year of clinical experience


JOB DUTIES

  • Delivers nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with stated medical plan of care utilizing the nursing process to assess, implement, and record patients' response in the medical record.
