Description:
This posting is for a Maintenance and Refrigeration Intern position at the Berry St Tyson facility in Springdale, AR. This Internship will last for up to one year. This is a paid position with a base pay of $16.15 per hour. A higher pay rate is possible as you work up the levels. It is part-time and will be scheduled for between 20 and 35 hours a week to meet applicant's school schedule. Successful applicants will be offered either Maintenance or Refrigeration based on their experience and aptitude.
This position is responsible for helping with troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The position will be trained to work as an industrial maintenance technician.
Tasks:
General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery.
You will learn through first-hand experience about industrial maintenance in a fast-paced, high demand environment. Interns will receive instruction but will also work on the equipment.
Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
