Job Details

The Senior Director will focus on our 3rd party vendors, from a relationship, service and a cost perspective. Also oversees the Agent network strategy in North America, controlling ~40% of volume (representing ~$24MM cost per year) and 150+ vendors within the region. Working closely with the regional leadership team, this position will be responsible for managing Agent performance to align with World Courier’s objectives and expectations of consistent service levels to drive continued growth for the region. The Senior Director will recommend and contribute to improved strategies to improve service and reduce cost as a result of these efforts.

Based in our New Hyde Park, NY or King of Prussia, PA office

  • Works closely with Director of Operations, Country Managers, and Customer Service & Logistics teams to evaluate business processes and designs, develops and implements improvements that increases service, reduces cost, and improves effectiveness.
  • Role will require travel 25-50% of the time, visiting agents for QBRs and assessing performance, ensuring our agent network understands the importance of our shipments.  
  • Owns relationship with Agent vendors, including negotiations and RFP’s.  
  • Defines Agent performance KPI’s and reviews performance metrics with vendors during Quarterly Business Reviews. 
  • Responsible for leading a team of Agent Dispatch and Relationship Managers for daily oversight and management of the operation.  
  • Evaluates and compares existing Agent-related expenses; analyzes results and develops specific actions for cost reduction and improvement to direct reports for execution.  
  • Evaluates existing and potential Agent vendors within market for operational and contract compliance in accordance with Cencora systems, GQRA, Legal, and Risk requirements.  
  • Oversees the Agent Resource Center (ARC), ensuring agents work in compliance with all World Courier policies and procedures. 
  • Explores opportunities with regional trucking vendors to align with AB vendors, potentially reducing costs and improving service. 
  • In partnership with Workplace Services and Real Estate teams, analyzes existing agent locations to determine opportunities for office expansion and insourcing based on cost optimization and service level considerations.   

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelors degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires ten (10)+ years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
