CLINICAL INFORMATICIST LEAD

The current hiring base salary range for this role is:

$104,966 - $131,207/year 

UCare anticipates paying within the above-references salary range for this position. The actual base salary offer for this position will be determined by a variety of components including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, location of the role, internal equity, and other relevant factors. 

LOCATION: Minneapolis, MN (Office for your Day or Work from Home) 

Position Description 

As the Clinical Informatics Lead, you will be responsible for supporting Health Services’ operational performance through integration and appropriate use of data throughout the information life cycle to support improved quality of care, appropriate utilization, proactive population health management and continuous improvement. You will bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and information technology, helping the organization improve health outcomes, control costs, and enhance member experiences. Participate in key committees and workgroups supporting improved health of UCare members.  Support cross-department initiatives as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Health Services information.            

  • Serve as a liaison between clinical and technical teams by translating complex data needs and workflow challenges into actionable items. 
  • Translate clinical workflows into data requirements to improve health outcomes for members and efficiency for the organization. 
  • Partner with IT and clinical teams to design, test and implement health information systems that support clinical workflows. 
  • Implement and oversee governance/decision-making process for Health Services information needs, including, intake, prioritization, and adherence to organizational data governance standards and processes. 
  • Partner with Health Care Economics to advise on data integration strategies, particularly regarding clinical data sources and clinical systems integration. 
  • Oversee clinical systems configuration needs, workflows, and documentation standards. Serve as a resource to Health Service Analytics regarding clinical systems reporting needs. 
  • Collaborate with HCE and Population Health on population health data management strategy and activities, including, but not limited to population assessment, risk stratification and criteria rules, and recommendations for appropriate program/initiative needs. 
  • Oversee clinical application of population stratification models. Collaborate with HCE to apply and validate available models. Collaborate with clinical teams to define clinical decision rules. 
  • Create data visualization/presentation strategies tailored to appropriate stakeholders. 
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, statistics, mathematics, finance, business administration, or any other closely related program. Advance degree preferred.
