What you'll do

As a key member of our cohesive, values-driven team, the Sr. ER Business Partner will act as both a trusted advisor and a culture steward. You will handle the full spectrum of sensitive and complex ER issues with empathy and rigor, including investigations, accommodation and caregiver requests. You will also develop, amend, and administer policies, conduct manager enablement sessions and participate in projects, as needed. Crucially, you will leverage casework data to identify trends and provide proactive, strategic guidance to HRBPs and business leaders to mitigate risk, drive systemic solutions and foster a positive work environment.

 

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director, Employee Relations.

 

Responsibility

  • Plan and conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other allegations related to potential violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in partnership with Legal

  • Analyze evidence, and document findings in clear, comprehensive, and professional investigation reports

  • Communicate regularly to relevant stakeholders; including Legal, HR Business Partners, business leaders, and involved parties regarding pending investigations

  • Ensure all investigations and employee relations remediation plans comply with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures

  • Address accommodation and caregiver exception requests to ensure compliance, business alignment, seamless coordination, and exceptional service delivery for employees

  • Utilize case management system to track and analyze investigation data, identify recurring issues/trends, and recommend proactive mitigation strategies

  • Create, update and administer relevant HR policies and procedures

  • Conduct training to HR and managers regarding compliance related policies and procedures

  • Participate in projects as needed

Job Designation

Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.

What you bring

Basic

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 8+ years of related experience

  • 4+ years of experience conducting investigations, including interviewing complainants, witnesses, and respondents, analyzing investigative data, production of investigative documentation, and reporting out to relevant stakeholders

  • Experience influencing, developing effective relationships with and providing guidance and coaching to HR business partners, managers, and leadership on complex employee relations issues

  • Experience working in an international company with a shared services structure, within a matrixed environment

  • Experience with state and federal labor laws (including ADA, PWFA, ADEA, FMLA, OSHA, and FLSA), EEOC regulations, and HR best practices

 

Preferred

  • High levels of empathy, discretion, and emotional intelligence to handle sensitive situations with care and that build trust with employees at all levels

  • Proficiency in mediating disputes and finding equitable resolutions that maintain trust and respect

  • Ability to critically assess complex situations, synthesize information, and develop effective and timely solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear reports, provide updates, and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders
