CNC Mill Setup/Operator

Description

Xactra Technologies is looking for a Precision CNC Turning and Milling Setup/Operator to add to our 1st shift staff. Xactra Technologies has been in business for 43 years and is a high-performance manufacturing facility supplying custom, high-precision mechanical components and assemblies to the optical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up/Operate Multi-Axis Mill Turns and or Vertical/Horizontal Milling Machines.
• Load fixture in the machine with blank parts to be machined or a machined part for one (1) of the part-specific operations, which would be noted on the job router.
• Utilize measuring devices to accurately measure part characteristics to ensure they meet within part conformance requirements, and document measurements on inspection documents.
• Seek supervisory help if the machine fails or measurements get completely outside limits.
• Document on router production, quality & scrap counts daily.
• Check to make sure the Coolant or Oil levels are at the proper function levels.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• CNC machining experience in turning or milling.
• Optical Industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read GD&T Code
• Ability to use all measuring tools.
• Materials experience: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Plastics.
