About the Job:

The Manager, Federal Government Affairs will play a key role in advancing the organization’s federal advocacy strategy on policies impacting the quick serve restaurant (QSR) industry. This position will primarily focus on labor/workforce, environment, food safety, franchising, and tax/trade issues. Additionally, this role will be responsible for attending PAC events and helping to manage the company’s PAC. A successful candidate will bring strong policy experience, deep understanding of the federal legislative process, and familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities facing quick serve restaurants. This role will be based in the company’s Washington, DC office. 

Salary Range:

$106.7K - $125.4k annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the organization’s federal legislative and regulatory agenda, with a focus on QSR-relevant issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships both externally and internally with key stakeholders, including: Members of Congress, congressional staff, executive agencies, industry coalitions, company subject matter experts, outside consultants, and franchisees. 
  • Monitor and analyze federal legislative and regulatory developments affecting the quick serve restaurant industry.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., legal, sustainability, finance) to evaluate how federal policy changes impact business operations.
  • Represent the company at industry trade groups and develop extensive relationships with industry peers and other stakeholder groups. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal lobbying regulations and maintain accurate activity reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Congress/federal government agency or private sector advocacy. 
  • Strong grasp of federal legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with labor policy, franchising, or restaurant-industry issues is a strong plus.
