Description
The Systems Development Engineer will join the existing team of Systems Engineers, sharing knowledge and responsibilities to support new and existing IT operations. The team helps to keep Verily’s systems running smoothly with high availability and by working with the business owner and other departments to understand their needs and act accordingly. The System Engineer uses their experience to continuously improve systems and processes, to help increase operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Build a robust infrastructure that is highly reliable.
- Create detailed documentation about processes and systems.
- Work with various stakeholders in implementing their requests.
- Manage the portfolio of systems, keeping them up to date with patching, and ensuring a high level of security.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in GCP or other cloud environments.
- 5+ years of experience maintaining a diverse portfolio of servers with different OSes and environments.
- Scripting and skills with automations tools (Puppet, etc…).
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware or other virtualization experience.
- Experience working with scientific or lab departments.
- Networking knowledge or experience.
- Security knowledge.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,000-$160,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
