Job Summary
The Material Handler position is responsible for moving and distributing materials. Some responsibilities of a material handler include unpacking materials, counting, labeling, storing, weighing, and measuring items in incoming shipments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Not only is a material handler a multi-skilled and well-trained person
- Responsible for making the rounds and supplying parts to all production workers who need them
- Provide tools and materials to the production line
- Responsible for counter tasks and responsibilities
- Provide any additional help needed to maintain Standard Work and keep the production flow moving
- Responsible for conducting training for current and new personnel as instructed.
- Meet standards of safety and 6S
- Promote the use and applications of Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement tools as part of the culture
- Be compliant with REV’s Code of Conduct and Attendance Policy
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees, vendors, and customers
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Qualifications/Training:
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions
- Some knowledge of Excel and Word
- Ability to understand two-bin systems
- Ability to interact courteously and professionally with the public and employees
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to prioritize work
- Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices
- Familiar with various tools: drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and router
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
- Ability to recognize the quality expected and be able to reproduce it
Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment
