Medical Assistant

Description

• Greet, room, and prepare patients for medical examination  
• Assist providers with in-office procedures  
• Manage orders and outgoing referrals 
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures  
• Record patient medical history and all pertinent medical information in the EHR  
• Subject matter expert for in-office medical equipment  
• Quality assurance of medical equipment and supplies  
• Stock and organize exam room supplies  
• Perform routine procedures under the guidance of Provider or qualified clinical support staff  
• Respond to patient messages via phone and MyChart in a timely manner (1-3 business days)  
• Assist clinical support staff, as needed.  
• Assist with Value-Based Care initiatives  
• Act as scribe, as needed. 

Requirements

• MA certification required  
• Prior experience in division specialty preferred (Primary Care/Family Medicine/Internal Medicine) 
• Prior experience with Epic EHR preferred
• Prior experience with specialty specific medical equipment 
• Knowledge of specialty specific medical terminology
• Ability to administer injections
• Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfort with interacting with the elderly and disabled
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work as a team
