MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a major course of study in forestry and three (3) years of forestry experience; or

 

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in forestry and two (2) years of forestry experience; or

 

Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

Requires possession of a valid driver license.

JOB DUTIES:

 

This is a professional and supervisory position responsible for developing, directing and coordinating all forest management activities on the Tate’s Hell State Forest. The duties require the employee to work closely with scientists, industry representatives, water management district representatives, wildlife biologists and other state and federal agencies on state land management. The employee must be capable of working independently in gathering and assembling data to effectively manage the forest.

 

Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with Florida Forest Service (FFS) and department policies and procedures. Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.) of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner.
