To be eligible for most benefits, you must be a permanent, full-time employee (including temporary, full-time faculty with at least an academic year contract) or a permanent, part-time employee (including temporary, part-time faculty with at least an academic year contract) who is scheduled to work every pay period for at least 50% of full-time hours.
Position Description Summary
Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania invites applications for temporary faculty positions (full-time one semester, part-time one semester or part-time academic year) as needs arise in the Department of Counseling and Educational Leadership for the College Student Affairs Program.

The College Student Affairs program trains future higher education professionals who can help college students navigate the challenges of higher education and promote their successful degree completion. https://www.bloomu.edu/academics/programs/college-student-affairs-med

Based on the specific needs of the department at the time of appointment, a successful applicant must be qualified to teach graduate level courses and/or supervise students in field or internship experiences. Courses may include College Student Affairs-specific courses, Intro to Educational Leadership, Organizational Behavior and Program Development, and/or Educational Research and Writing.
The location for these temporary positions varies with the expectation of serving a multi-campus University within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Duties
Candidates will be expected to plan and deliver instruction through multiple modes of instruction including: face to face, asynchronous, synchronous, distance education, or multi-modal/dual-location teaching. In addition to teaching classes, temporary faculty are expected to hold office hours, engage with departmental faculty, attend department meetings, complete scholarly activities related to the position, and engage in service activities
Qualifying Experience and Education (Minimum/Preferred)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education requirement Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, College Student Affairs or related field.
  • Five years of full-time, post-Master’s experience working in the College Student Affairs profession

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate in Higher Education, College Student Affairs, or related discipline
  • Eight years of full-time, post-Master’s experience working in the College Student Affairs profession
  • Two years of full-time prior experience teaching graduate courses in the College Student Affairs and/or Higher Education disciplines
  • Experience using synchronous and asynchro
