About the role

Amazon is seeking a Senior Procurement Analytics Manager (Sr. PA) to join the Global Corporate Procurement team. The Sr. PA will own overall project leadership in support of spend analytics to identify sourcing opportunities and pipeline development for indirect spend categories spanning Marketing, Professional Services, Technology, Corporate Services (HR, Travel, Temp Labor), Construction, Facilities, and others. The Sr. PA will also play an important role in supporting leadership reporting and complex strategic sourcing projects (e.g., market and supplier research, RFP project management, and analytics support).

The Senior Procurement Analytics Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the team, and providing data insights to leadership as leaders develop future strategies. They will also support the assigned sourcing categories in the alignment of cost models and spend trends, to recommend future sourcing initiatives.

Primary responsibilities of this role:
- Conduct macroeconomic and category spend analysis utilizing data from Amazon’s spend analytics cube and external market data
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of recommended sourcing projects for the strategic sourcing team
- Partner with Category managers to conduct opportunity assessment and stakeholder engagement to expand procurement influence into new spend areas
- Provide data driven insight and metric reporting to leadership
- Conduct market and supplier research to enhance and inform sourcing and negotiation strategies
- Gather insights from the analysis, consolidation and scoring of vendor proposals, and make recommendations to Category Managers and business partners
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and bench-marking analysis
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and maintain procurement ethics in accordance with Amazon’s global policies.

Basic Qualifications


- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics/Finance, or related field.
- Advanced analytical and financial skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
- 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and procurement experience; preferably to include 5+ years in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation
- 5+ years of project leadership, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects that require frequent communication, organization and time management.

Preferred Qualifications

- 7+ years of strategic sourcing experience, preferably to include 5+ years in an indirect procurement function, at a multinational corporation with global contracts.
- Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization, and works easily in multi-business unit project settings; able to facilitate teamwork across corporate boundaries.
- In-depth understanding of best-in-class procurement practices (category management, bench marking, should-cost models, RFx).
- Proven written and oral communicator, with strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills to act as an effective change agent, unlocking barriers to value for priority spend categories.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
