Pay Grade: 12 

Salary: 85000 - 95000

Job Summary

This role is for leaders who specialize in teaching and training associates on executing third wave coffee, food, and hospitality. They will be regionally based to support in person and virtual training for the Cafes in their region to ensure all standards are maintained. This has 25% remote work and 75% travel and in person. Their focus will be to ensure that all cafes and designated Subject Matter Experts at each location are trained and execute the current core menu and seasonal offerings to the outlined standards. 

 

An ideal candidate would reside in the Boston, NYC, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C. market. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate and deploy the three pillars of Capital One Café program which includes (Verve Coffee Brand Standards training and Compass Hospitality & Culinary program curriculum.)
  • This role will report directly into the Compass VP of operations for Capital One Cafes. They will also collaborate with the Executive Regional Chef and Head of Training & Development at Verve.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Verve Coffee Roasters. Ensure all café employees are trained and performing to Verve Brand Standards.
  • Deliver in-person coffee training on technical skills, including milk, espresso, extractions, brand and coffee education for new openings, re-training, and as needed.
  • Drive training strategy for the region, balancing needs and ensuring consistent execution of Verve Coffee Training, Hospitality and Culinary training programs.
  • Support Train the trainer program in all “Elevated Experience Training Hubs. Focus to ensure all onsite subject matter experts, responsible for the Coffee, Hospitality or Culinary programs are trained and maintaining all standards at the highest level.
  • Coordinate virtual training content in LMS management, webinars and digital assets/job aides.
  • Complete quarterly site-inspections and audit for quality. Coach team members and managers with corrections and develop actions plans and re-training as needed.
  • Café & Coffee equipment checks. Ensure it operates at the required for Verve preparation standards. Identify tech service needs.
  • Health & Safety: Promote teamwork, communication, hospitality and all safety and cleanliness standards during training
  • Special Promotions & Events: Assist the operational team in deploying new Seasonal offerings. This can include facilitate on-site tastings, demonstrations, and activations. This may include public lectures, tastings or community events.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 3-year experience in specialty cafe environment
  • Two years of specialty coffee training experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of seed-to-cup, coffee preparation, & industry standards
  • Equipment calibration and general maintenance experience preferred, knowledge of a wide range of equipment
