About the role

Job Title: Lab Courier
Department: Logistics             
Location: Riedman Campus    
Hours Per Week: Part-Time, 20 hours/week
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30p-7:30p, every other Saturday 8a-1p         

SUMMARY:
As a Courier, you are a professional who delivers and maintains specimen integrity and solves client issues so that our caregivers can provide accurate analysis and quality care to our patients.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily Assignments. Execute each courier route with efficiency, ensure the integrity of each delivery; access, navigate and send correspondence using designated computer
  • Customer Service. Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner, promote superior customer service and customer relations; use sound judgment to problem solve if client issues arise; understand and respect patient confidentiality
  • Documentation. Report equipment condition and notify coordinator of maintenance requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License required.
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Friendly, kind and customer service oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions
  • Rochester area geographical knowledge preferred
  • Previous courier experience or systems driving experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service related work experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
