I can succeed as an Art Direction Lead

We’re seeking a forward-thinking Art Director to lead creative projects focused on Capital Group’s communications of our investment product lines, management services and tools.

In this role, you will collaborate with business partners, writers, and designers to research, envision and develop compelling narratives that engage and inspire our B2B customer audiences. Our teamwork in this space requires someone who thrives in a production-oriented environment with regular releases spanning digital content, printed brochures and article publications. Bring your demonstrated experience overseeing designers, guiding the process of and communicating with cross-functional teams. We are continuously aiming to elevate visual story telling across our marketing platforms, and directing the creation of impactful data visualizations will also be an essential part of this work.

Be an effective communicator, attentive listener, and liaising partner between design and business teams to set creative direction of our marketing materials and digital experience

Actively contribute to our design team discussions and workshops focused on optimizing our internal processes and evolving practice of advancing customer-focused experiences

Lead creative work of visual designers including in-house and contract agency partners working with product teams, as well as providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship

Drive design strategy and decision making within collaborative team environment including business, product, content, design and development

Brings a consultative approach to collaborating with senior-level leadership on strategic marketing and customer

Connect with business team partners to learn about core Capital Group values, how those are carried into our investment products and approach to serving our B2B customer audiences

Actively guide the design process with a focus on reaching our targeted customer and business objectives

Manage a demanding workload of revolving projects and deadlines, prioritizing and delegate tasks appropriately, while ensuring high-quality of deliverables.

Actively work to ensure all designs across digital and print are created with adherence to WCAG content accessibility standards.

Ensure design touchpoints align to CG brand guidelines and design standards. Be proactive in making recommendations for new ideas and optimizations for continuous design improvement.

Facilitate design workshops to collaborate, brainstorm, and gain alignment on art direction of creative solutions to address our customers’ needs and business goals.

Oversee omni-channel visual design deliverables and artifacts. Examples include: Social media, digital and print literature, brochures, display and print ads, email communication, digital presentations

Take creative initiative to explore big ideas that can reveal new opportunities for marketing communications that can reach our customer audiences in meaningful ways.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $116,974-$187,158

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
