Overview

WildBrain Studios is looking for a Lead FX Artist to join our team! 
 
As a Lead FX Artist you will be the creative and technical eye of the show, reviewing and supporting the FX and compositing stages of the production. You will work closely with the Director and Art Director to achieve the look of the show. The ideal candidate is an experienced artist with a creative eye and the ability to guide and support their team. This position will report to the Producer.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

What You’ll Do:

• Liaising with Directors, Supervisors and IT to design and produce the requested style of effects  
• Coordinating and communicating with various departments for required assets and input  
• Reviewing workload and communicating any issues to Director and Producer  
• Organizing and managing own work and files efficiently and ensuring all FX work is completed on schedule  
• Consulting with series directors and suggesting creative solutions that will maintain the vision of the series  
• Reviewing and approving the final FX scenes while keeping show continuity in mind  
• Training, mentoring, and motivating a team of FX Artists  
• Anticipating, communicating, and troubleshooting any creative or technical issues  
• Providing constructive feedback and guidance to the team  

 

What You’ll Bring:

• 3 or more years’ experience as a FX Artist on an animated series  
• You have experience in Harmony FX (preferred)  have strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills  
• You have the ability to communicate and provide feedback in a professional and positive manner  
• You are driven, determined, and have creative problem solving skills  
• You have effective and professional communication skills 
• You have experience in Harmony FX (preferred)  

 

This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.

Pay Range: Union minimum $1343 - $1475 for role, per week based on a 40-hour work week. 

Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individual brings, with consideration of our internal equity.
