JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) within our professional services organization. The PMO Leader will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects, optimizing project management processes, and driving operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage high-impact projects, and contribute to the overall success of our software solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Success Measures:
PMO Leadership: Lead the PMO team, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship to ensure the effective delivery of projects and initiatives.
Project Governance: Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to best practices and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Portfolio Management: Oversee the management of the project portfolio, including prioritization, resource allocation, and alignment with strategic objectives.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance project management processes and methodologies to drive efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and project managers, to ensure alignment on project priorities, objectives, and deliverables.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively, implementing strategies to minimize impact and ensure successful project outcomes.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to monitor project progress, track key milestones, and communicate project status to stakeholders effectively.
Resource Management: Optimize resource utilization across projects, ensuring the right skills are allocated to the right projects at the right time.
Change Management: Lead change management initiatives related to project management processes, tools, and methodologies, driving adoption and buy-in across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (8-10+ years) in project management leadership roles, preferably within a professional services organization or software company.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and frameworks (e.g., PMBOK).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and optimizing project management processes, tools, and systems.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving results and delivering high-impact projects on time and within budget.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials are highly desirable.
- Experience in the utilities space is an asset
- Proficiency in project management software tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Kantata, or similar platforms.
- Willing to travel up to 25%
