Job Overview

 

We are currently looking for a Team Lead to join our team in Bruce.

 

Attains team's goals by leading continuous improvement process with High Performance Teams and other necessary resources. Consistently acts and behaves in manner that supports high performance team-based organization, effectively working to manage safety, quality, schedule, cost, culture, and environment.

Major Responsibilities

  • Drives continuous improvement process and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement of team metrics.
  • Serves as owner of team(s) board process, including updating metrics daily; transfers information from work team to team(s) board to provide visibility of team measures.
  • Coordinates activities for training of members, as designated by supervisor, including keeping training matrix complete and up-to-date, ensuring training of members is complete and Standard Work processes are followed.
  • Performs production responsibilities as necessary to cover for absenteeism or heavy work loads (30 to 40 percent of work time).
  • Communicates proper information to respective High Performance Teams regarding successes and/or deficiencies in achieving team goals.
  • Follows documented policies and procedures as designated by company’s safety, quality, and production systems; communicates concerns with safety, quality, equipment/production systems. 
  • Works with members to set expectations for Haworth Management System (HMS) items and deadlines.  Leads HMS activities to improve work processes.
  • Identifies root causes and trends of problems in area; communicates information to Supervisor or support group member to initiate action plan to resolve issues.
  • Understands established quality standards and performs quality checks, per work area instructions.
  • Utilizes personal computer (PC) and keyboard/mouse skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and other necessary applications, to perform tracking and documenting of improvements.
  • May lift material/product weighing up to 50 pounds and/or move material/product weighing various amounts, up to 100 pounds (assistance given with heavier objects).
  • Performs all duties as assigned to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Flexes work schedule as business demands; may work more than eight hours per day and/or forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.

Do you meet these qualifications?

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent (equivalent is defined as equivalent degree OR job-specific work experience OR combination of education and job-specific work experience; three years job-specific work experience equals one year of formal education).

 

WORK REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

  • Three years manufacturing experience, including one year Haworth manufacturing experience.

OR

  • Three years manufacturing experience, including one year leadership experience outside Haworth.
  • Machine operation and/or material handling equipment experience preferred.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Large-sized equipment utilized in some areas.
  • Moderate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, dirt, solvent, glue, grease, oil, paint, heat, and/or vibrations.
  • May require repeated and sustained liftin
