Job purpose

The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. The Arden campus offers a multitude of career opportunities and is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

This position is the hands-on specialist in the molding, machining, or assembly departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Operates equipment.
  • Must set process parameters on computer, complete tooling set-ups on machines, program machines as necessary, perform packaging and material handling duties for production line. 
  • Responsible for all quality checks, entering SPC information into system and properly reacting to this information. 
  • Performs preventive maintenance of own tooling.
  • Works with production control for work scheduling.
  • Must be able to access other shop floor departments as required.
  • Tracks and is responsible for departmental scrap.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

What we’re looking for

  • Completion of high school or equivalent. 
  • 1 year industrial work experience utilizing computer-controlled equipment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficient in personal computers
  • Proficient in relevant programming
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Experience running computer-controlled equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Gaging and SPC experience. 
  • Attendance on the job is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.

  • Prior departmental experience

Safety

This position will adhere to the BorgWarner Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their Team Lead immediately.
