Our services encompass a breadth and scope not commonly found in one location. From conceptual design to detailed design, biological/fisheries studies, analytical modeling, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), field measurements, physical modeling, precision flow meter calibrations, to field testing – all of these specialized services are found within our Labs team.

Opportunities abound in testing our clients’ fluid flow infrastructure and fluid flow devices. We are seeking a Senior Consultant to assist our groups in the expansion of their service offerings by providing input on available adjacent markets, technical expertise to enter the market, and improving the existing infrastructure to be able to offer our services at competitive rates. In helping us execute our plans for organic growth, the senior consultant will mentor junior engineers and managers to ensure the initial seeds of growth develop to contribute meaningfully to the company revenue stream. This position will work closely with our Holden, MA office.
Responsibilities:
- Seek to advance Verdantas’ reputation through research and presentation of findings
- Participate in proposal teams, particularly focusing on proposals and developing new areas of business
- Contribute cost-effective, innovative technical approaches to projects to help secure project wins
- Must communicate well with clients and be an expert in “technical empathy” - understanding client needs, pain points, and success measures
- Lead and/or contribute to technically complex projects at a high level of execution and thoughtful project management
- Provide thorough QA/QC and peer review on technical work products, plans, and designs
- Mentor and teach junior engineers and managers to improve technical depth and leadership skills through thoughtful delegation, seminars, and independent research
Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related
- 20 years of experience in fluid dynamics-related fields
- Technical expert in fluid mechanics of large civil hydraulic structures
- Technical expert in fluid mechanics of fluid components such as valves, pumps, filters
- Ground-up familiarity with the design and implementation of quality control systems in demanding environments such as nuclear power
- Detail-oriented project management skills
- Proven track record of successful business development
- Track record of developing technical and managerial talent
- Ability to multi-task projects and research, and prioritize them correctly and dynamically
- Ability to design, implement, and optimize data acquisition strategies with technical expertise ranging from sensors to data acquisition programming and data analysis
