Merchandiser - Brookings, SD Area

Prairie Farms Dairy, South Dakota, operates as a dairy manufacturing plant and distribution center that covers the whole state of SD and some of the surrounding states.  We make dairy products that are then distributed to retail outlets, warehouses, hospitals, correctional facilities, retirement homes, food service warehouses, schools and colleges throughout South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wyoming.

 We are seeking a skilled full-time merchandiser for our Brookings, SD area.  Creative minds should apply!  

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Merchandise large box store Dairy space
• Set up plan-o-gram execution including stocking, fronting, facing and rotating of product also rearrange shelving, move product off shelves, pull shelving out of refrigerated doors, clean shelves, and re-stock product back on to shelves
• Ensure that product displays look professional and appealing
• Reset displays and report any problems/opportunities with products and/or displays
• Manage and document inventories
• Building relationships with diary managers and receivers
• Communicate with management on a regular bases
• Conduct store surveys and inventories in order to better understand and test customer responses to given product and markets
• Any other duties as assigned by management

 Physical Demands:

Position requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, fine hand manipulation, and kneeling.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Company service pickup provided as needed but must have a valid Driver’s license and proof of insurance
• Past Merchandising experience is preferred
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written
• Attention to detail and conscientious
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize/self-motivate and manage time effectively
• Ability to work and get along with others
• Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations
• Computer skills with working knowledge of Windows based software, such as Microsoft Excel and word
