The System Director/AVP SEP Finance is responsible for managing programs and strategies that affect the financial performance of St. Elizabeth Physicians and is responsible for working with the Financial Shared Services group to ensure the financial integrity of the physician group financial statements. The position responsibilities include: strategic financial planning to meet short-term, intermediate and long term goals, operational and capital budgets and serving as a staff liaison to the Board of Directors, SEP compensation/finance and pension committees.Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.
Job Description:
Operations:
Acts as a trusted advisor to the President/CEO, SEP Board and other senior management.
- Meets regularly with administrative and clinical department heads to keep informed and to offer direction.
- Analyzes SEP operations to pinpoint opportunities for improving financial performance.
- Leads initiatives to develop business analytics that will allow the organization to quickly identify issues that need immediate attention as well as identify long-term opportunities to ensure the organization’s success under evolving practice models (such as value based care programs).
- Collaborate with St. Elizabeth Healthcare, SEPN and all other affiliates to establish/implement strategies that will drive growth, provide efficiencies between the organizations and promote the appropriate payment model.
- Works with SEH VP, Finance and SEH Financial Shared Services Group to ensure the safeguarding of assets, provides accurate and timely reporting of financial information to management, board, and/or government regulatory agencies as required.
- Works SEH Financial Shared Services Group for accounting functions, financial forecasting, business plan development, budget preparation, audit and financial risk management functions.
- Works collaboratively with and provides insight to the revenue cycle team at St. Elizabeth Physicians.
Management and Planning:
- Recommends, develops, implements and updates strategic short-and-long- term financial plans to support SEP philosophy and goals.
- Working with the COO, provides leadership in developing, planning and implementing SEP business plans for divisions, service lines and practices.
- Prepares and reviews reports to model and analyze current and potential financial impact on current and future decision making.
- Participates in evaluation of potential new practices, locations, services and geographies for efficiency and profitability.
- Studies long-range economic/demographic trends and challenges associated with healthcare reform, including legislative and CMS and participates in the development of future growth and market share consistent with these developing long-range factors.
Leadership:
- Is a strategic partner to Operations and leadership to strengthen the financial performance of all areas within St. Elizabeth Physicians, and work collaborative with St. Elizabeth Healthcare to ensure that the financial performance of both organizations will be achieved.
Communications:
- Serves as liaison and channel of communication between clinical and administrative employees and Financial Shared Services Group.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- An active participant in System management activities and is a respected partner within the Administrative Council. Participates with the System management team to develop strategic initiatives helping to drive operational and financial excellence across the entire System.
Physician Compensation Plan and Development
- Provide leadership in provider compensation that ensures the compensation methodologies used to reward performance of the physician group are in alignment with the overall strategic objectives of the organization. Ensures that compensation is competitive within the market to attract highly trained clinicians and staff to the area.
- Works with consultants as needed to ensure that physician compensation is concordant with fair market value.
- Assures that the organization meets all Federal legal requirements.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:
