Instructional Innovation Technician Audio Visual (AV)

Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Infrastructure Operations, the Instructional Innovation Technician – Audio Visual focuses on customer services, classroom/lab/studio technologies, audio visual (AV) systems, conference technologies, and associated systems through analysis, design, modification, maintenance, installation, and general support of these services to ensure service availability integrity and reliability.  #CalPolyITS

Department Summary

Information Technology Services (ITS) is a fast-moving team that is responsible for helping Cal Poly achieve academic excellence through developing and implementing learning, teaching, and administrative solutions which leverage technology that align with strategic goals and objectives. With a focus on continuous improvement, ITS fosters innovation, supports continuous learning, and develops people to their full potential. Our team of more than 170 professionals works in a DevOps environment to shape the technology landscape at Cal Poly.

Key Qualifications

1. Provide exceptional customer service, collaboration, and consultation to the campus community.
2. Understand, analyze and diagnose basic user needs and resolve problems in a timely manner; ensure users understand technical services as assigned.
3. Assist in analyzing and troubleshooting problems involving a combination of hardware, software, and design solutions; troubleshoot errors in system operations and initiate repairs.
4. Support technology installed in classrooms and conference rooms.
Provide support to both technical and non-technical faculty and staff.
5. Ensure assigned systems and services are properly maintained and fully operational.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree (additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of required education on a year-for-year basis).

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $58,000 - $72,000 Per Year

Classification Range: $49,128 - $94,572 Per Year 

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
