Overview:
As a Logistics & Inventory Ops Associate, you'll be a key player in ensuring smooth inventory flow and back-of-house operations for Wayfair's Physical Retail team. Your responsibilities will include unloading shipments, managing inventory movement, and maintaining product accuracy to create a seamless shopping experience for customers. This role requires attention to detail, comfort with warehouse environments, and the ability to handle heavy merchandise efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and is eager to contribute to operational excellence.

What Does a Logistics & Inventory Associate Do?

• Demonstrates Reliability: Attendance and commitment to being present and on time for your full shift each day is crucial. This ensures we’re prepared to support our customers when they need us most. For unexpected events or issues, we require our team members to be proactive in their communications and planning whenever possible.
• Receive and Process Shipments: Unload and receive inbound furniture and other products, including manually moving large, heavy goods. Ensure inventory is accurately processed and documented.
• Customer Engagement: You will be responsible for owning and delivering a positive customer experience for curbside transitions, carry-out, pickups, and returns.
• Ensure Inventory Accuracy: Use scanning technology to record carton-level details, including product condition, quantity, and location within the store.
• Monitor Order Management Systems: Track in-store and online orders processed through back-of-house operations to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Manage Inventory Movement: Pick, stage, and move products from storage to the sales floor while maintaining proper organization and placement.
• Support Operational Excellence: Collaborate with store teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, maintain accurate stock levels, and uphold Wayfair’s commitment to efficiency.
• Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow safety guidelines for lifting, equipment use, and warehouse operations to create a secure work environment.

What are the Job Requirements?

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Retail or Warehouse Experience: At least 6+ months of experience working in a retail backroom, warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment is preferred.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and move items 150 lbs+ with equipment or a team lift. Comfortable working in a warehouse/back-of-house environment for the majority of the shift.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with scanning technology and order management systems is preferred.
• Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to adjust to evolving processes and take initiative in troubleshooting inventory or logistics challenges.
