For Platforms we are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic RSC High Speed Platform Product Variability & Configuration Change Manager at Savigliano site in Italy

 

Product Variability & Configuration Change Manager is needed to support at TDS level the product variability definition and configuration change through ongoing projects and product development strategy, as expected in Alstom organisation and reinforced by Impact 30 program.

The Product Variability & Configuration Change Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and evolving the product configuration baseline throughout the product lifecycle. He/she is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the product variability model and associated digital tools (such as PLEiADE, DOORS, PLM4A) to support modular product architectures, efficient configuration management, and robust change processes.

This role ensures robust change management, configuration control, and traceability from pre-tendering through project execution and sustaining phases. The Product CCM acts as the guardian of product integrity, ensuring that all changes are controlled, documented, and aligned with business, technical, and customer requirements

This role enables product re-use, standardization, and digital continuity across the product lifecycle, supporting the organization’s platforming and modularization strategy.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Configuration & Variability Management

  • Define and manage product variants (e.g., different models, options, features) to meet market needs while minimizing complexity.

  • Establish and maintain the product baseline as the base Configuration Item List.

  • Ensure the consistency and integrity of the product baseline across all lifecycle stages (As-Offerable, As-Sold, As-Built, As-Required, As-Designed, As-Administered).

  • Oversee the handover of As-Built configuration to Service teams.

  • Maintain digital continuity and traceability between engineering, industrialization, and service.

  • Modularization & Standardization: Develop strategies to reduce variability through modular design and standardized components.

  • Variability Model Development & Maintenance: Continuously improve the product variability model in digital tools (PLEiADE, DOORS, PLM4A, etc.), ensuring it reflects changes in product architecture, requirements, and customer needs

• Change Control

  • Lead and coordinate Product Change Control Boards (CCBs) to ensure no uncontrolled deviation from the product referential or from what has been sold.

  • Ensure all changes are properly assessed, documented, and implemented in accordance with governance processes.

  • Support risk assessment and mitigation planning related to configuration and change management.

  • Actively support the Project and Service CCBs.

 

• Lifecycle Support

  • Support pre-tendering, tender, project, and sustaining phases by ensuring configuration and change management deliverables are met.

  • Collaborate with Product Directors, Chief Engineers, Program Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on configuration and change issues.

  • Participate in product maturity evaluations and gap assessments, engaging actions to fill identified gaps.

 

• Process & Tools

  • Deploy and maintain configuration management tools (e.g., PLM4A, DOORS, PLEiADE) to support digital product governance and ensure seamless integration and digital continuity between engineering, industrialization, and service functions.
