What you’ll do

  • Assist Land Development Managers to achieve approvals of land use & zoning, preliminary & final plats, permitting, engineering & landscape plans
  • Process contracts, change orders, and pay applications, to include updates of accounting software and budgets
  • Process subdivision, utility, and pre-servicing agreements
  • A/P related duties to include the contracting, change orders, pay applications, and close-out
  • Manage letters of credit, performance bonds and certificate of occupancy hold agreements
  • Pursue bond exonerations upon the completion of land development activities
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and other financial management including conveyance to municipalities
  • Answer phones and perform various administrative tasks for manager and land team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Assist with the management of land development projects from acquisition to final assumption, with liaison between Sales, Marketing, Building/Architecture, Government Authorities, Consulting team and Contractors

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Land Planning, Construction Management, Law, Finance or related field strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting within the homebuilding and/or land development industry
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet hard deadlines
  • Self-motivated with ability to work well on a team
  • Ability and willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Excellent project coordination skills in assisting team’s work efforts
  • Detail oriented, strong communicator, and team player

Bonus points

  • Experience with JD Edward preferred, or other larger ERP software
