We’re looking for a new Architectural Design Intern in our Architectural Design group to help drive the objectives and challenges our valued clients have trusted us to solve.
As a SYSTRA US Architectural Design Intern, you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budget. This is for the summer 2024 period and can have a flexible end or start date based on your educational requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support a variety of architectural tasks that will help you develop your technical, social and ethical skills
- Learn the day-to-day function and team interaction in the Architectural Design career path
- Assist with project research, field work and preliminary design
- Support preparation of final design plans
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
- Complete training on assigned tasks
- Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship

Required Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Architectural Design undergraduate program
- Demonstrated interest in the architectural design field
- Strong graphic skills with ability to clearly convey design ideas and intent
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors and managers
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology and tools
- Ability to learn and adhere to workplace health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship
- Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship opportunity and it will be based out of our Newark, NJ office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus
- Familiarity with 3D modeling, rendering, presentation and design software such as: Revit, Sketchup, Enscape, Adobe Suite and Rhino
- Experience with various architectural design programs and software
