We are looking for skilled Senior/General Ledger Accountant to join our amazing team located in Gdansk, Poland. As a Senior/GL Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records for selected countries.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Ensuring overall quality and timely accounting
- Performing general ledger accounting in line with Hempel standards, including:
- Fixed assets register and depreciation
- Assets under construction
- Clearing (confirmations and transaction posting)
- Payroll (based on HR summaries)
- Prepaid costs register
- Accruals register
- Provisions
- Revaluations
- Current accounts and loans
- Maintaining proper documentation for all accounting activities
- Coordinating month-end close in collaboration with the Finance Controller
- Reviewing account accuracy and initiating corrective/preventive actions
- Conducting trial balance reviews and reconciliations
- Supporting tax, statistical, bank, and employment reporting
- Collaborating with other departments to gather and reconcile accounting documents
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Mentoring new colleagues and contributing to GBS projects and training sessions
What do you need to have?
Experience & Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years overall experience in finance, including 1 year of experience in general ledger or full accounting process
- Good command of English
- Proven experience with ERP systems
- Experience in a shared service center is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel)
