Senior/GL Accountant

We are looking for skilled Senior/General Ledger Accountant to join our amazing team located in Gdansk, Poland. As a Senior/GL Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records for selected countries.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Ensuring overall quality and timely accounting
• Performing general ledger accounting in line with Hempel standards, including:
  • Fixed assets register and depreciation
  • Assets under construction
  • Clearing (confirmations and transaction posting)
  • Payroll (based on HR summaries)
  • Prepaid costs register
  • Accruals register
  • Provisions
  • Revaluations
  • Current accounts and loans
• Maintaining proper documentation for all accounting activities
• Coordinating month-end close in collaboration with the Finance Controller
• Reviewing account accuracy and initiating corrective/preventive actions
• Conducting trial balance reviews and reconciliations
• Supporting tax, statistical, bank, and employment reporting
• Collaborating with other departments to gather and reconcile accounting documents
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Mentoring new colleagues and contributing to GBS projects and training sessions

What do you need to have?

Experience & Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years overall experience in finance, including 1 year of experience in general ledger or full accounting process
• Good command of English
• Proven experience with ERP systems
• Experience in a shared service center is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel)
