Responsible for advanced knowledge of the loan operation functions, including Commercial, Consumer Loans, and Lines of Credit. This position is responsible for booking loans, processing loan maintenance requests, exception item processing, payment & payoff processing, various reports, and servicing of specialty lending products. This requires extensive knowledge of bank policies, procedures, federal and state regulations which impact problem resolution aspects. This position requires critical thinking and analysis including independent judgement. This position may assist with special initiatives or projects; support other areas within Loan Operations as needed.

 

Essential Functions/Duties (A few accountabilities that cover the tasks, duties and responsibilities that are most important to get the job done, listed in priority order. Describe what must be accomplished including supervision or management responsibilities and quality and quantity standards.):

  2. This position requires the employee to possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn, while providing superior client services to all members of LINKBANK.
  3. Uploads loan account file information to the bank’s core processing system and verifies loans are being booked accurately.  
  4. Process all work orders, incoming requests and payments within defined SLAs and timeframes. These include but are not limited to loan payments, loan payoffs, letters of credit, loan modifications, tickler updates, payment wires, monthly insurance reconciliations. 
  5. New loan documents are scanned, indexed, and committed to the client’s file after the loan is booked to the system in a timely and accurate manner. Other loan documents with client’s request, such as change of address, auto payment set up, and change in terms etc. are also scanned to the client’s file. 
  6. Performs post-closing review functions; reviewing loan documents for compliance and accuracy; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information. 
  7. Conducts daily reconciliation of general ledger and clearing accounts.
  8. Post transactions to loan accounts the same day the transactions are received. If unforeseen issues delay the same day posting process, transactions must be effective dated to the date the transaction was received. 
  9. Becomes and maintains proficiency in all LINKBANK loan related software systems including SilverLake, Loan Vantage and the Jack Henry platform.
  10. Participates in cross-training as a backup to other positions within the department. Utilizes the principles of teamwork to make sure work is done in a timely manner. 
  11. Train/mentor new members of the department.
  12. Participates in training programs to ensure knowledge of all pertinent procedure and regulatory requirements to perform all aspects of this position in a competent manner. 
  13. Communicates effectively with immediate supervisor on all important department matters and developments. Responds to questions from internal departments and leadership. 
  14. Follows all established security and internal control procedures to protect the assets of the Bank and its customers. 
  15. Maintains proficiency in using all applicable software to this position.
  16. May require working with outside insurance agents (ex. Flood or homeowner’s) with accuracy.
  17. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: College degree or equivalent experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with clear direction from supervisor.
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and the ability to be proactive.
  • Must partner with management team to ensure effective compliance to Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in engaging vendor relationships.
  • Strong computer knowledge and Windows skills required.
  • Involvement in community groups/events and strong networking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Experience:

  • Loan operations experience required.  
  • Branch, lending, and payment processing experience is an advantage.
