Phamily is helping to place an on-site Medical Assistant for our client in Lake Barrington, Illinois. This individual will be working internally for Northwest Neurology.
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing patient care, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role requires a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examinations.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist healthcare professionals during medical procedures and examinations.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform basic wound care and dressing changes.
- Provide patient education on medication, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Conduct pre-appointment screenings and assessments.
- Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Manage medical inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages to appropriate personnel.
- Complete forms and paperwork related to patient care and clinic operations.
- Clinical Support:
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and testing.
- Perform basic diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, urinalysis, and phlebotomy.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms and clinical areas.
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing empathetic support and addressing concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment conducive to teamwork and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Proven problem-solver with ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally recognized organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior use of EHR/EMR systems highly desirable
- Experience in Neurology
- Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally recognized organization.
